1. Can’t lie. It’s ALWAYS my daughter, Chelsea, who doctors basically killed in 2013 and I am obsessed with cloning. I know what you’re thinking. Please read about SUDEP which 95% of neurologists FAIL to educate even high risk patients about like my daughter who would be alive today if we had only known. You could save someone’s life just knowing what it is and that it is 80% (if not more) avoidable. So that’s EVERY morning and every night. Apologies for going long.
2. My OTTB who I haven’t seen for days because my car is in the body shop (NYC + a Mack truck but never again). Fortunately, my son let me borrow his car so I could go see.
3. Hoping like hell my replacement debit card would come in mail today. Halloween candy to buy!
Thank you. I didn’t mention but the North American SUDEP Registry is where you can read a little about SUDEP as well as the horror stories written by mostly parents. My daughter’s story and photo is 3rd from the top. One in 26 people will develop a seizure disorder at some point in their life. On a much happier note, I gained a second grandson yesterday and he’s beautiful (most babies are ugly after all)!
1) keyboardist...so a few more listens of Foreplay by Boston (trying to learn it for my band, and it is ridiculous. And written/performed by a guitarist, which makes this song's continual kicking of my ass even more aggravating).
2) Then a few listens of The Long Highway by Mark Knopfler and Wired to the Moon by Chris Rea as I've been asked to play those at my uncle's Celebration of Life in a few weeks.
3) First day with a new pair of glasses, and I absolutely hate them as they make me dizzy. Apparently the break-in process can take a few days to a few weeks.
Lastly, not sure if I've told you this before, but: I listened to Angel Dust around 10 years ago for the first time. And your keyboard work on that album (simple, yet absolutely driving the sound of a heavy and ridiculously cool album) motivated me like no other album ever has...whether you like that or not. I hadn't played piano for 10 years or so til I heard that album. So thank you! If you make your way up to Western Canada sometime, I'll happily come see whatever project you're touring with!
Hi Roddy. First of all, I'd be remiss if I didn't say I was a big fan. Faith No More helped to shape me into who I am today. Thank you for that. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you, your book sounds incredible.
Three things that move me forward:
1. My long suffering wife
2. My dogs Peanut and Lola
3. Finding Substack. I thought it would just be a great place for me to dump my own thoughts, I wasn't expecting to find such a fantastic community full of vibrant souls.
Google! I type in the song name synth sound (example - Jump Van Halen synth sound) and search. Usually I can find information and other synth heads discussing how they are able to create/approximate the sound.
1. I'm learning to be okay with being alone
2. staying mentally healthy by listening to 90s music and dancing alone in my apartment (my dog gives me a dirty look and goes to bed)
3. writing sarcastic blackout poetry which I imagine Christopher Walken reading just for fun
I'm excited about your book! Who the hell am I? Just a fan!

Why thank you, Lewis. I love the name Peanut.
1 - knowing that I voted early
2 - trying to figure out one particular synth sound WITHOUT looking it up

How do you look up a synth sound?
Google! I type in the song name synth sound (example - Jump Van Halen synth sound) and search. Usually I can find information and other synth heads discussing how they are able to create/approximate the sound.
