Thanks for the steer, Roddy. I was proofreading yesterday afternoon when the notification flashed on my screen. My peripheral vision saw a doll on the run from Superstar:The Karen Carpenter story in the right hand corner of the notification. Just watched Moana. The symbolism of a pink vagina shell being placed on top of a pile of moribund stone slabs was unexpected (in a Disney movie) and good to see. Watched the credits because I thought it might have been Tim Curry (from the Rocky Horror Show) singing the crab’s song but it wasn’t. Great photo of you with your sisters. The magic between you is palpable. For anyone who is interested here is a link to Superstar:The Karen Carpenter story. It’s the antithesis of Moana. Crushing rather than affirmative, upbeat and optimistic. It’s a hard watch but perhaps it provides a context for why films like Moana remain necessary.
You are the best.
"She’s never had house keys and she still doesn’t know how to drive." I love this sentence. I wish I knew someone I could ascribe it to.
Thanks, isn't the house keys part funny?
Yes. Rather reminds me of my wife, who hardly ever takes her keys out with her.
I laughed out loud at the bite of pork. I love you Roddy.
Love you. xxxxxx
Off to see Moana 🌟
Thank me later, Erin. xxxx
The Black Stallion is my favorite movie. I'm laughing a lot about the creamed corn, Jone.
The kid is straight up Matteo. ‘The Black.’
Poor Blanche! I'm so glad you will share some Courtney stories, I love her, she's the most. All your women sound remarkable

It's so good. Peak Disney, no notes. Glad you found it.
Can't wait for the book, I think I want to be you when I grow up.
Aw, thanks, Jim, the book doesn't come out til Fall 2025 but I'm happy to have you onboard.
Consider the coconut.
The coconut is such an integral part. And then those little monsters! Holy fuck, Scott.
Creamed corn???? And cosigning Moana—female hero and female villain? Yes.
The creamed corn is insanity.
Love Kim's album!
Awwww. Love you, Alex A. AND Moana! ❤️
Miss you, Catriona. Are you gonna be there in Jan?
Yes! Can’t wait!!
I’m looking forward to your book. Wish it was out for Christmas. Maybe I’ll request it for my birthday in the summer. Cheers Roddy!
Thank Aawhit. It doesn't come out until Fall 2025. I could come over and read it to you and your family Christmas morning? Send me an address. xxxx
That would be amazing. Remind me and I’ll open the chimney damper and put out the fire.
